VALUES & STANDARDS

DISCUSSING THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING STANDARDS THAT ACCOMPANY QUALITY EDUCATION.

At The Depot Learning Center, we strive to maintain standards that keep the quality of what we do excellent. We ensure that each of these is fluid throughout our entire day, morning to afternoon. It is an understanding throughout the staff and administration that to keep order, discipline, and consistency, we must ensure that we hold these values and standards at the forefront of our daily routines.

One scripture we cling to is 1 Corinthians 14:33, which says, "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace". We always want the peace, love, and order of Christ to be the backbone of our classrooms, staff, and parent-teacher relationships.

GOD

Designer, Creator, and King over everything; all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present; the ultimate arbiter of justice, mercy, grace, and truth (Psalm 100:5; Psalm 119:90; Isaiah 40:28; Ephesians 4:6; Hebrews 4:16)

TRUTH

Absolute, eternal, and unchangeable; founded in God; revealed through scripture; personified through Jesus (Psalm 25:5; Psalm 199:60; John 14:6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 3 John 1:2-4)

MANKIND

Made in God's image; separated by sin; redeemed by the blood of Jesus; designed with a free will and choice; created on purpose with purpose; transformed and renewed into His image daily (Genesis 1:27; Joshua 24:15; Psalm 138:8; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; 2 Corinthians 4:16)

KNOWLEDGE

Begins with the fear of the Lord; is hidden in Christ; is pleasant to the soul; leads to fullness of life; preserves, protects, and guards; provides for a future (Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 2:10-11; Proverbs 3:21-26; Proverbs 24:14; Colossians 2:1-3)

CHRIST-CENTERED

Everything we do, whether it be lesson planning, teaching, or crafts is centered around Christ! While some activities may not relate to scripture, trust that the intentions behind them are to glorify God!

COMMUNICATION

Communication is one of the most important things we value at The Depot. We keep communication alive in two ways: in-person conversations, or daily personalized updates on our parent system, himama

HONESTY

With communication comes honesty, and honesty, along with Christ, is the foundation of The Depot. In order for relationships with our parents to be strong and successful we need honesty to be at the forefront of conversations. We pride ourselves on ensuring that you are informed of even the smallest changes taking place in your child's classroom! Now, there might be times when a conversation is hard to initiate, but we want you to know that it's okay and that your thoughts & concerns are significant to us.

RESPECT

Respecting your and your child’s boundaries, questions, and concerns is extremely important to us. Each person is created in God's image and therefore is treated with respect. Respect is at the foundation of all we do, respect for the teachers, administration, parents, and children.

CLEANLINESS

An appealing classroom is clean and uncluttered. It is important that each classroom is thoroughly cleaned daily and that items in the room are in good repair. Staff members are responsible for the daily cleaning of classrooms. Floors should be cleaned after lunch and at the end of each day. Tables, chairs, toys, and other items handled by children during the day are to be disinfected daily. It is important that the rooms are cheerfully decorated and a place where you, as a parent feel good about leaving your children in our care.

LOVE

We will love and protect kids as if they were our own! We want to make sure we are fostering an environment of love every day at The Depot. This extends to our lessons, playtime, and discipline. We want you to know that your child is will be taught with love, but also corrected in love as well. Making sure we have an environment where every child in our care is treated equally and fair is extremely important to us because these things are extensions of love.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Making sure your child is encouraged throughout the day is something we want to do every day. We want to celebrate them, like when they use the restroom correctly, play nice with friends, or maybe even take their first steps! This is especially important when they make mistakes, or maybe just not having a great day. It’s in these moments when that encouragement is needed after the correction. We want the kids to understand that even after the discipline, they are still able to turn that behavior around!

SECURITY

Our staff is required to go through background checks, a CPR certification course, an FBI fingerprinting, and extensive meetings with the director which they are put on a 90-day monitored probationary period after being hired. Your child's safety is our #1 priority and we make sure that the people working for The Depot are safe, and well-informed of the standards we uphold at our facility.
